Press Me Pretty

I took part in a design challenge by @thebriefdiary on Instagram to create the branding for Press Me Pretty — a brand of statement-making press on nails. The scope of this project included the brand identity creation, as well as all packaging design.

I wanted the branding to feel girly, chic, modern, and bold. I designed a logo that encapsulates the essence of Press Me Pretty, using sleek typography with feminine colors and bold outlines. The logo also incorporates a diamond shaped sparkle symbol, which will serve as a core symbol throughout Press Me Pretty's branding, being utilized in further designs. As for the brandmark, it utilizes the signature "P" from the logo, encased in a boldly outlined starburst shape. The starburst shape keeps on-brand with the sparkle symbol that is core to Press Me Pretty's branding.

The color palette is very girly, while still being fun. I utilized a mix of softer feminine colors and bright, bolder colors to ensure a stylish and chic aesthetic.

I wanted to keep the box that the press-ons would be mailed in simple, with the logo front and center. I also incorporated the sparkle symbols on the corners to add a fun, girly touch — almost as if they were stickers placed on the box. I then used a pattern I created using the brandmark and sparkles to line the sides of the box.

For this design challenge, I also created a Valentine edition of the mailer boxes that would be used during the month of February. This allowed me to explore how I could switch things up while still maintaining Press Me Pretty's aesthetic. I utilized the two pink colors from Press Me Pretty's branding, changing the box to light pink and swapping out the sparkles for some cute, bright pink hearts with the same bold outline style that the sparkles have.

When customers open their package, they will be greeted with tissue paper covered in the pattern I created utilizing the brandmark and iconic sparkles. This pattern is fun and bold, utilizing the core elements of Press Me Pretty's branding. The tissue paper will be held together with a sticker that has the brand's logo on it.

I also designed the packaging for the press on nail products. I analyzed various press on nail competitor packaging to aid me in my design. Throughout my research, one important feature that stood out to me was having a window to showcase the nails, rather than just photography of the nails. With this in mind, I wanted the main focus to be on the nails for this packaging, with the box still being eye-catching enough to draw customers' attention. Thankfully, this wasn't a problem with Press Me Pretty's bold brand design. It was also key for the box to include the style name for each pair of press ons, as well as the box contents listed at the bottom, so customers know what they're getting. To top it off, I was able to incorporate Press Me Pretty's signature sparkle symbols as a die-cut to tie it all together and add a girly, chic flair to the box.

Lastly, I designed a landing page for Press Me Pretty's ecommerce site. Since it's the first page users land on when arriving at Press Me Pretty's site, I wanted to catch the user's attention right off the bat. I continued to incorporate Press Me Pretty's girly, bold, aesthetic, while showing off plenty of product options to entice users. Leaning into the trendiness of the brand, I also utilized a more candid style of product imagery, rather than overly professional studio shots. This imagery is reminiscent of what you would see on Instagram or TikTok when someone's just gotten their nails done. This also helps the user imagine what the nails could look like on their own hands, rather than how it looks on a professional model's.
